The Anti- Apartheid Department Condemns banning the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights from Entering the Palestinian Territories

Ramallah - The Anti-Apartheid Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) condemned the Israeli occupation forces for preventing the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, "Francesca Albanese," from entering the Palestinian territories. This act is a blatant attempt to distort facts, disregard the International Law, and hinder the work of the international institutions in the Palestinian territories.

The Anti-Apartheid Department added that the measures taken by the Israeli Occupation to prevent international figures from entering Palestine are part of their policy to silence the voices advocating for the just Palestinian Cause and defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinians under the International and Humanitarian Law against the genocide policies, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement.

The Department mentioned that the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Palestinian Territories had previously stated that the Israeli occupation violates the resolutions of the International Court of Justice issued in January, urging to take the necessary steps to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and to avoid all actions that could constitute genocide.

Furthermore, the Anti-Apartheid Department praised the professionalism of Ms. Albanese and her significant role in the field of human rights. The Department urged all countries and international organizations to fulfill their legal responsibilities and take immediate actions to halt the genocide and implement the resolutions of the International Court of Justice by isolating and boycotting the occupation state.
